DRJ

I know this is a day late, but I want to say happy 17th birthday to my studly little brother, Devin!

I wish I could have been there to celebrate it with you, Dev. But I heard you were on a hot date and I didn't want to interrupt. :) Here are some things that I love about Devin:

He's just about the nicest, kind-hearted guy you'll ever meet. This kid will do anything for you, and then when he's done, he'll ask you if you need anything else.

Devin has his own style. He doesn't care what other people think about him, and because of that, he is so much cooler!

Devin is a peacemaker. He never fights with anyone, and he has this calmness that he carries with him. He's laid-back and chill.

Lastly, you can't beat this kid's sense of humor. If I'm having a hard day, I call him and end up laughing my little heart out.

Happy birthday, Devin! I'm sad you won't be joining me in good ol' Provo next year, but that doesn't mean we can't have some fun road trips.

Today, I am 22.

Happy birthday to me! Today I'm 22 years old. And BYU plays tonight against Florida and Jimmer, you better give me a good birthday gift. That's all I'm going to say about that. But, just because I want to, we're going to take a trip down memory lane and you can see me in various ages in all my glory. Just one request: please don't laugh. I know I look silly. Thanks for having me 22 years ago, Mom!

We love our daddy.

9th or 10th birthday? We didn't bother using forks.

21 21 21 21!

Yesterday was my birthday, and it was wonderful. Thank you, dear friends, for the wishes, parties, balloons, and flowers! It was a great day. Do I look 21? No. Do I feel 21? Maybe someday I will. But until then I created a list of goals I would like to complete this next year. I figured that maybe, if I write them here, and someone sees me slacking off on them, they can lecture me.

1. My first goal is to read my scriptures every day for the whole year, not missing a single one.
2. Run a 10K.
3. Learn some sort of new useful skill (budgeting, sewing, etc.)
4. Exercise! I've been slacking on that this semester.
5. Look for an act of service that I can do daily, even if it's a small one.
6. Be a better example to others.
7. Listen to/read a General Conference talk each day. (See story here)
8. Start a charity, or help support one.
9. No gossiping or judging! (see above story link)
10. Be the very best person I can be this year.

I made a list yesterday of 21 goals, but I can't remember all of them, so these are just a few.

Birthday!

Yesterday was my birthday, the big 2-0. It was so fun! The first part was a bit uneventful. Having a birthday on Tuesday in the middle of winter semester isn't exactly amazing. It was also cold, which made me a bit sad. I went to my Family History and French classes and got a new ID card. When I came back to my apartment, I got a bit suspicious that something was going on inside. When I walked past our living room window, the blinds flew shut, and my roommate Jasmine stuck her head out the door and said "You can't come in yet!" So I was locked out and ended up just sitting in my car for a while.

Eventually they let me in, and they had decorated the apartment! It was so great! It was all green and yellow, my favorite colors. I had a gift from Jasmine sitting on my bed (a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips included!). Then that night we had a party with my apartment and our FHE brothers. One of them, Ross, had a birthday a few weeks ago, so we had two cakes, one for each of us.

I'm hoping that, by starting a new year, I can set some goals for myself. I really want to focus on three areas, spiritual, academic, and physical. I made a list of things I want to work on, and I'm hoping I can stick with it!

And a month from today I'll be in London!

This was after Justin threw some cake in my face.
Success!

Just a bit of the decorations.
