I Feel Pretty

I'm just going to resurrect two of my favorite commercials. Aren't days when you feel like this the absolute best?

This is great.

Dear 16-Year-Old Me

I know summer is coming to a close, but I found this video today, and I thought it would be important to share. My family has a history of melanoma (my aunt was diagnosed with it when she was in her early 20s), and because we have a fair skin and blonde hair background, avoiding harmful tanning beds and rays is important. I have friends who bake in tanning beds on a regular basis, and people, it's just not healthy! Not only do you end up looking like Snooki and age faster than you should, not being smart about these tanning beds (or "death" beds as a dermatologist I know calls them) can even result in painful surgeries and death. Please be smart, and know that this is not a "girls only" disease. Guys like to tan, too! Share this with any teenagers and young adults you know, and let's be safe together.

As for me, I'm a fan of Jergens Daily Glow line. Use it 3 times a week and you have a natural-looking, NON-ORANGE, UVA/UVB rays-free tan.

Detroit

Okay, we all know I have a deep love for Taylor Swift's music. Read here, here, here, and here and you'll see why. I came across this video today and it again made me think she's about the greatest country singer to grace the planet. She's on her U.S. tour right now, and in every city she visits she pays homage to musicians that have come from that city by covering a couple of their songs. In Detroit, she covered Eminem and Uncle Kracker. Isn't she just the greatest?

Well this is the story all about how...

This might be the best video I've ever seen. I love you, Jimmy.

In Sickness and Health

I found this video today and I wanted to share it with you. In my Relief Society class we talked about marriage and eternal families, and I thought this video coincided nicely. I hope someday when I'm old and maybe a little senile I have someone with me who loves me enough to deal with it with optimism and faith.

Happy Sunday!

Mama Quit Her Yob! Yay!!!

*10 points to Gryffindor if you can name the movie my title came from.

I found out yesterday that I'm one step closer in the process of getting my dream job (well, at least dream internship). And I'm so happy! I'm pretty sure that when I got off the phone yesterday with the lady who told me I'm getting an interview, I think I did a dance that resembles this little red-headed boy's.

And then my little sister showed me this video. If only I could have the confidence of this little girl.

Tina Tina Made These Doorbells...

Okay okay, one more post of the year. My brother and I have been catching up on our SNL and this might be my favorite clip ever. Enjoy!

Baby Blue Eyes

This last week I went with my roommate Ashley to the Hanson concert. Remember them (Mmbop, long hair, circa third grade)? Anyway, it was really good! They're all grown up now, and their songs are great, their hair is amazing (much better than 13 years ago), and it was fun! But I really liked the band that opened for them, A Rocket to the Moon. Because I'm on this music kick right now, here are a couple of their songs, my personal favorite being the one called "Baby Blue Eyes." Enjoy!

The Boy Who Lived

Even more Harry for you. My friends and I are going to the midnight show, and I'm going to be Professor Trelawney. So excited.

Can't Be Moved

Yet another song that I love. I just think the idea behind it is cute. Is it pathetic that the video almost made me cry? I feel for you Danny O'Donoghue. Maybe someday I'll meet you on that corner. :)

Sweet

Every girl should have this song sung to her by a guy. It's my new favorite.

Optimism...Pass It On

Tonight in one of my Education Week classes, taught by Barbara Barrington Jones about how to make positive changes, we watched this video, which was way too cute to pass up on sharing!

Dance

I had a revelation tonight. Sometimes impromptu dance parties when you're all by yourself unpacking can be the best thing ever. Especially because today I'm celebrating my ascension into adulthood. Yes, by age I entered into adulthood 3 years ago, but I did some hard things today that made me feel grown up. More on that later. Until then I'm going to dance my heart out to some B.o.B. "Magic." Great song. :)

Ugly Ducklings

I know I've become a bit obsessed with posting videos lately, but I saw this one today by President Uchtdorf that was put out by the Church for the youth. I think it's so neat that the Church is making videos for the youth, and even has a new website for them (youth.lds.org). I especially appreciate this video because, even though it's meant for teenagers, I, as a 21 year old, still get something out of it. Because sometimes, I do feel like the ugly duckling! Enjoy.

Swan Dive!

Yet another one. Who is this guy? I very much want to meet him. Oh and P.S. The Octopus Oracle was right. Viva Espana!

Complete and Total Happiness.

THIS came out yesterday. I have since watched it about 10 times. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm grateful for many things. But most especially for 1980s exercise videos. Enjoy!
